Quijote, Perdiendo la Vida — Quijote, Losing His Life — captures that figure at his most exposed: not in triumph, but in the act of giving everything, of spending himself completely in pursuit of something the world called madness and he called purpose.
ROBGALAR finds in that figure something deeply, unmistakably Puerto Rican. The island has always produced its own Quijotes — artists, activists, dreamers, builders who refused to accept the version of reality handed to them and chose instead to fight for the one they believed in. People who poured their lives into music, into poetry, into political struggle, into the daily act of keeping a culture alive against forces that would have preferred it disappear. People who lost battles and kept going. Who, like Don Quijote himself, were called fools by those who lacked the courage to dream as large.
