ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This artwork was born under the story of MARÍA, NI NADIE PUDO CON NOSOTROS because it is a cry of resistance — a visual testimony of the unbreakable strength of the Puerto Rican people. This monumental work captures two historic moments that defined our generation: the devastating HURACÁN MARÍA of 2017 and the summer of 2019, when the people took to the streets demanding justice and dignity.

The composition features a raised fist holding the flag with the hashtag #YONOMEQUITO — a symbol of resistance born from the devastation of Hurricane María, which in 2019 became the anthem of a generation that refused to surrender in the face of adversity.

The Puerto Rican flag in black represents mourning for the lives lost throughout these years, uniting us in the strength and unity of a people that stands firm in its identity.

This art was created as a mural painted by ROBGALAR. Collectors of this work will take home a historic piece — a smaller-scale document of a 12-ft tall by 45-ft wide original — rendered as an artistic concept about our struggle and pride for who we are.

The artwork captures the energy of the protests, the post-María community solidarity, and the indomitable spirit that defines Puerto Rico. Every visual element — from the clenched fist to the vibrant colors — tells the story of a people that doesn’t quit, that doesn’t give up, that endures.

This limited edition canvas allows this historic piece to live in homes, offices, and community spaces, serving as a permanent reminder of our capacity to resist, to unite, and to remain steadfast in who we are. This is not merely decorative art — it is a visual manifesto, a declaration of identity, a testimony of our recent history.

Each print arrives ready to hang, allowing you to bring this powerful message into your space. The vertical format emphasizes the upward force of the raised fist, creating an imposing presence that inspires and reminds us that Puerto Rico does not quit.
